Helping Families in Need

Each holiday season, DiFabion Remodeling partners with the Business Leaders of Charlotte for the annual BLOC-n-Bowl to raise money for local families in need. For the 23rd consecutive year, BLOC will be providing some holiday necessities (groceries) and cheer (presents) to families in great need, revolving around a day of bowling. Their “wish lists” are modest and humble while peppered with children’s toys and games. The items requested by families are items that most of us take for granted (i.e., socks, a jacket, pillows, linens, jeans, etc.). With each family’s present delivery, we are able to include a grocery store card ($200/$250) so that the family can fill their cupboards and refrigerator at least once. The smiles, happiness, and gratitude are genuine. It is great to see the appreciation of the families and also know that you really made a difference in a child’s life.

Last year, BLOC-n-Bowl raised over $31,500. We are determined to eclipse that amount this year.

Please know that half of the proceeds this year will also go to The Meggs Foundation, which is a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. They are responsible for providing supportive resources for young adults and young families in the Charlotte area suffering from life-threatening medical conditions. They are always worthy of our support but especially this holiday season.

Project Profile

A “legacy client” whose parents were our original client wanted a new space fully integrated with the main floor. The existing kitchen was small and confined, disproportionate to the adjacent rooms on the main floor. The cabinetry layout was outdated, of poor quality, had minimal storage, and was a tight working triangle. Lighting was also an issue, with the partition wall choking off natural light shining through the rest of the house.

The end result would prove to be everything the client wished for and more, including a more efficient layout, functional custom cabinetry storage, a spacious island with comfortable seating, classic finishes, and a perfectly balanced lighting plan. The new kitchen was fully integrated into the rest of the home and felt as it should have always been!
