DR in the Windy City!

Michael, Scott D., Ashlyn, and Hannah recently had the opportunity to attend the Remodelers Summit in Chicago, IL. Each year, the Remodelers Summit brings the best minds of the remodeling industry from across the country together to discuss best business practices and creative ways to improve the client experience. With the current economic climate bringing a sense of uncertainty, this year’s theme was The Art of Overcoming Adversity. The general sentiment in the remodeling industry is positive, despite higher inflation and interest rates staring us in the face. The focus of the Summit was to lean into the challenges we may face and focus on improving the things we CAN control, like our team, systems, and processes, and finding ways for our clients to improve their homes for a better quality of life. Overall, the trip was a huge success, and our team can’t wait to share all of this valuable information with our clients, past, present, and future!

Creativity With Space Planning

Recently, we completed a master bathroom renovation in South Charlotte, where the existing space was barely the size of a guest bathroom. The vanity was in a separate “foyer” with little privacy and congested flow, leading into the adjacent tub/shower/commode room. The entire master bathroom was in dire need of an upgrade, but the challenges of a limited footprint with which to work were daunting to say the least.

With much thought and creative space planning, our design team was able to create an efficient new layout, maximizing function and flow. After removing the wall that separated the vanity from the main bathroom, we gained precious space to expand the bathroom, allowing room for a double shower. Take a look at this luxurious new master bathroom featuring a custom walk-in double shower, thoughtful storage solutions, and unique new finishes. Hats off to our in-house design team for imagining such possibilities and a team of craftsmen for making it all happen!

How To Use
Monochromatic Colors in Interior Design

Monochromatic color palettes are great options for creating simplicity in a space without losing depth or dimension. These color schemes are seen in many living spaces, kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms and other areas of the home. What makes a color scheme monochrome is the variety of shades within one particular hue. By adding white or black to the main color, one can create highlights and contrasting shades to ensure the color scheme isn’t flat. The important thing is that once you have your base or dominant color, incorporate complementary shades within the space to give it depth and character without straying from the original intent.

Some advantages of a monochromatic color scheme include a cleaner and more sophisticated style, as well as the look and feel of a larger space because of the contrast and depth. It also provides a sense of cohesion and consistency through the use of one color. If the idea of a monochromatic color scheme lacks the variety you seek, white and black accents, mixing different material textures, and incorporating contrasting artwork can all enhance this versatile aesthetic. But if not done properly, a monochromatic color scheme can have the opposite effect. That’s why it’s always a good idea to work with an experienced designer to help you along the way. If you’re interested in this timeless color scheme, see if our design team can help transform the space you always envisioned!
