Introducing the New DR Design Studio!

In another effort to enhance the client experience, we are proud to announce our newest upgrades to the DiFabion Remodeling Design Studio! From our earliest days as a design/build remodeler, we identified the need for an inviting space to help ease some of the typical client concerns associated with planning a major remodeling project.

Are we doing the right thing? What are the possibilities? What is the project going to look like? Our design studio helps alleviate these anxieties by providing a focused process and approach, where our design team presents practical floor plan options on the computer screen, 3D renderings of the new space, and product samples for the client to see and touch in person.

Complete with fresh new flooring, tile, hardware, and lighting, the upgraded design studio helps bring our clients’ dreams to life. Check out some pictures of the new look and how this design/build process may be the right approach for you!

Clever Space With a Dirty Name!

Mudrooms are the kind of spaces you may not have but soon find you can’t live without – especially in a home with children. These functional spaces are used for the obvious storage of muddy clothes and sports equipment, but they can be used for so much more!

From a “drop zone” for bookbags and jackets to a parent command center for mail and keys, mudrooms provide smart, practical storage solutions for items that would otherwise end up on the floor or kitchen countertops. What’s a good location to charge phones and tablets? A mudroom. Where can we hang pet leashes or store food? A mudroom. Where should we hide seasonal shoes and outerwear? A mudroom.

Check out a recent project, where we captured some unused space in the garage and repurposed a small closet as part of this functional new mudroom.

By framing the new layout in the existing garage and incorporating it with conditioned space of the existing home, we were able to maximize every inch for this new project. The mudroom and “drop zone” now feature built-in cabinetry storage, benches and cubbies, and a charging station for virtually any electronic. This simple transformation had a huge impact on the overall functionality and aesthetic of the garage entry to the home!

Our vision is to create a memorable brand experience while enhancing the quality of life for the clients we serve.
Drop Zone Ideas To Inspire Your Mudroom Makeover

The mudroom is the perfect area to temporarily store essential items while coming and going every day. Keys, purses, coats, backpacks, shoes, and boots – having a dedicated drop zone for organizing these everyday items is a game-changer!

These drop zones allow for convenience while minimizing clutter. Regardless of the size of the existing home, drop zones can be incorporated in a number of locations, in even the tiniest of spaces.

For homes with ample front entry space, adding bench seating with cubbies beneath can add great functionality and a pleasantly surprising aesthetic as you walk in. For homes with less square footage, adding custom shelving and hooks allows for space-saving storage solutions.

The important part in designing the perfect drop zone is to think about the needs of those in your home and the traffic patterns as they come and go. This not only leads to a life less cluttered, it also adds value to the home when it’s time to sell.
