Project Overview

A nice feature to this project was the installation of sliding glass French doors. This young family was looking to eliminate the compartmentalized feel of this 1970’s South Charlotte home by removing the walls separating the kitchen and dining room to make one large space for their kitchen remodel. However, they wanted to somehow integrate the family room into the new layout without eliminating the option of closing things off when necessary.

By increasing the width of the existing opening into the family room and installing double sliding glass French doors, the family now has the option to open both doors and bring both spaces together or close the doors for privacy and noise reduction.
